Play Count Issue ...

Hi,

I've had my iPhone 3GS now for almost 3 months, since buying it, it has never registered a song as played, not one single song has a play count against it. I don't understand why, I play my songs from start to finish, still nothing is counted. Even if I play the song through iTunes from my iPhone on my computer it will still not register the song as played

However if I play a song from my hard drive through iTunes it does register the play count.

Can any one please shed some light for me on what is causing this issue, cheers.
