After upgrading to OS3.1, iPhone 3G re-started to ignore the 'Album Artist' tag.
If I remember correctly, the tag had been ignroed in OS2.x, but the OS3.0 started to recognize it. The bug has come back with OS3.1? Or my memory is wrong?
Just in case you are not familiar with the problem, here is a summary:
Suppose I have an album by artist "artistA", in which a few songs have guest artists "artistB", "artistC". Of course this is not a compilation. I set the 'Album Artist' tag to "artistA", and set the 'Artist' tag of the songs to "artistA", "artistA feat. artistB", etc. If I transfer the album to my iPhone, then the artist list on the iPhone looks like:
"artistA"
"artistA feat. artistB"
"artistA feat. artistC"
I want only "artistA" is displayed (and it was indeed so with OS3.0, if I remember correctly). Moreover, if I select "artistA" on the iPhone, then only songs without guests are listed.
